Troop 341 from St. Katharine Drexel Church pitched in to help victims of Hurricane Charley, as part of a massive statewide effort to help victims of the category four storm that battered the southwest coast of Florida on Friday, August 13, 2004. Troop 341 scout Peter Doscher who helped organized the relief effort, delivered $6,000 worth of food and material needs and $3,000 in cash collected by the Scouts to local churches and families in the hardest hit area of Punta Gorda, Florida. The Scout volunteers also served lunch to over 250 families and workers in the stricken area. |
