Dear Brothers:
Our council delivered 10 pallets of food (oatmeal and juices) to be
shipped
to Gonaives, Haiti. You remembered that this city was specially
hit hard
with several hurricanes hitting the area.
Our council should be very proud that we were able to receive from
Logistic
Alliances in Weston this donation of over $13,000 of breakfast
items. This
effort was coordinate by our brothers Tomas Gonzalez and Enrique
Rodriguez.
We will also receive an additional $12,000 worth of goods next
Monday to be
delivered to several non-profit organizations in Broward and Miami.
This
makes total donation by Logistic Alliances for $25,000.
Fantastic!!!!
We are certain that there are more companies that are willing to
donate
items as they may be close to an expiration date and probably cannot
be sold
to the public. Our council can be instrumental in coordinating the
transfer
of these items to people in need. We are in need of storage space,
trucks
(as this time we had to rent one), pallet jacks and dolly's. Most
important
we also need volunteers to make the deliveries and move boxes. This
coordinated effort could be a great ministry for our council to get
involved
in.
Let me know if you know of any company that would like to
participate in
this great effort. All donations will be recorded for purpose of
tax
deductions for the companies participating in the program. In other
words
everything they donate can be tax deducted via KOC Charities.
